How to Login from an Internet Cafe
Using internet cafes is becoming a lot more widely spread then it was in previous years, and you see a lot more people using these services. It’s become so popular that some people will go to the trouble of setting up keyloggers onto these public machines so that they can gain your passwords to your sites. This could happen to anyone and it could also cost you an arm and a leg if the wrong information was leaked.
There is however a way you will be able to conceal your password using a simple trick I will teach you right now. Assuming the machine you’re using is running a keylogger that is undetectable take these steps to avoid problems.
While entering your password don’t use successive keys, add random keystrokes in while you are typing the password. This will make it impossible for anyone to tell what the actual password is. It’s a very simple but tactical tip you can use for protecting yourself while using public accessed computers.
To be more precise:
1. go to password box
2. enter the first char from your password
3. then move the focus from the password box to some random place in the browser page
4. enter some random chars
5. go back to the password box
6. enter the next char from your password
7. repeat from step 3 until you are done.
For an example of what I mean above here it is:
Password = Vehicle
Now when you’re typing in your password into the box go like this.
-“V”sfjfgor”e”dirufj”h”jdhsbc”I”doeirt”c”dnabew”l”cmvkj”e”
As you can see the keylogger will log the whole sequence as your password but really the only keys you punched into the password box were the ones to equal your password. This trick has been used against some of the best keyloggers known on the market and it has stood up too all of them. Just make sure you use enough random keystrokes in-between so that it is impossible for them too guess your password.
The only other thing I could suggest would be too not use public access computers but for a lot of us that isn’t an option so use the tip above and you should be well on your way to protecting yourself and your privacy.
